Meeting Fear & AnxietyIf you are experiencing fear and anxiety, you are not alone. Fear has become widespread in our society and it can manifest in all sorts of ways from performance anxiety through to fear of dying. There are 3 usual ways of dealing with fear: getting caught up in it, trying to fight with it and trying to ignore it. All lead to suffering.??That is psychological fear. However, if you find a lion in your bedroom and fear comes, it's a natural and appropriate physical reaction to a real situation. Psychological fear is about something that might happen in the future rather than a response to something that is actually happening right now. When you try and fight with fear, you are fighting darkness. It adds struggle to the existing issue. So what to do? Darkness is the absence of light. Presence is like light. When fear is coming up, it's as if the rest of you is not there and only the fear is there. In sessions, you are supported to address fear in a gentle way, to access your inner strength and be more relaxed and present.
